Community Service
My Father's House
Part of the Community Service Committee, I assisted in the development of a large scale community service project, in which Centennial FBLA raised $2,000 for My Father's House, a local homeless shelter. In addition, awareness was created in the Gresham community about the need to break the cycle of homelessness.
Dougy Center...The National Center for Grieving Children and Families
As a member of the FBLA association, assisted in planning, organizing, and executing a family carnival. In addition, assisted in a Dancing with the Staff night, Bunco tournament, and bracelet sales, raising a total of $6000 for the Dougy Center...the national center for grieving children and families.
March of Dimes
Participated in the Pick-a-Pumpkin campaign for the March of Dimes. A total of $700 was donated to the March of Dimes in 2011, and assisted in raising an additional $500 in 2012.
SOLVE
Assisted in completing Earth Day projects by pulling out indigenous plants and replanting native plants.
Oregon Action for Healthy Kids
At the end of October, planned and executed a community carnival, raising $1000 for Oregon Action for Healthy Kids and raising awareness for childhood obesity.
